Commencement Saturday celebrating the Class of 2025

Baccalaureate | Saturday, May 3

Festivities will begin in the Bishop Angie Smith Chapel with the Baccalaureate service of worship at 9 a.m.

Class of 2025 | Saturday, May 3

The Undergraduate Class of 2025 will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Freede Center. Students should line up for the processional no later than 10:30 a.m. for the 11 a.m. undergraduate ceremony. The north doors at Freede will open at 9:45 a.m.

The Graduate Class of 2025 will be celebrated at 3 p.m. at the Freede Center. Students should line up for the processional no later than 2:30 p.m. for the 3 p.m. graduate ceremony. The north doors at Freede will open at 1:45 p.m.

The deadline date to apply for your diploma and graduation is Feb. 7, 2024.

Limited mobility seating will be available behind graduate seating.

To purchase a cap and gown, please visit by Feb. 24. After the Feb. 24 deadline, the Campus Store can still take manual orders via phone at 405-208-5112, email or walking into the store. The Campus Store will also have a stock on hand of all the regalia pieces for any last minute needs.

The Office of Alumni Engagement invites the Class of 2025 to Sign the Gold Star on the OCU Quad!

Uphold the tradition and join OCU alumni who have come before you to “Sign the Gold Star.â€

Class of 2025 graduates will have two opportunities to Sign the Gold Star in May:

  1. Sign the Gold Star Senior Sendoff | Date TBA
  2. Class of 2025 Graduation Celebration immediately following both Commencement ceremonies

Grads need to wear appropriate, flat sole shoes if they choose to climb the Gold Star to the 7th floor to Sign the Gold Star. If grads do not want, to, or are unable to, climb the tower to the 7th floor, graduates will have the option to sign a plaque on the Quad that will be added to the signatures in the Gold Star tower following graduation weekend.

GENERAL PARKING for the OCU 2025 commencement ceremonies can be accessed from the intersection of NW 27 and Florida. They consist of the following:

  • the Ann Lacy Softball Stadium parking lot located on the northwest corner of NW 27 and Florida;
  • the Kramer School of Nursing Parking lot to the south of the intersection of NW 27 and Florida, behind the School of Nursing; and
  • the Walker Center parking lot located immediately across the street to the south of the School of Nursing, located at NW 26 and Florida.
  • the parking lot south of the Dulaney-Browne library

GENERAL PARKING OVERFLOW will be located at NW 27 and Indiana, on the northwest corner, in the unpaved parking lot located northwest of the Freede Athletic Center. This location is unpaved and contains construction debris in some areas. Drivers using this location will park at their own risk. Graduation parking is not allowed in the unpaved parking located immediately west of this location at NW 27 and Kentucky.

LIMITED-MOBILITIY PARKING is located on the west side of the Freede Athletic Center, immediately south of the intersection of NW 27 and Indiana. This is designated parking for those using wheelchairs, and others with limited mobility. Each of the above paved parking lots have limited mobility parking spaces.

TRUSTEE & SPECIAL GUEST PARKING is located inside the Limited-Mobility Parking Lot, on the west side of the Freede Athletic Center, immediately south of the intersection of NW 27 and Indiana. Trustees and special guests should park on the south curb line in this parking lot, unless they require limited-mobility parking.

All available OCU police officers will be on duty and assigned to this event. ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ City University is a private university. Weapons are not allowed on university property. As a private institution we reserve the right to deny access to anyone who violates the policies, rules, and regulations of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ City University. Participants found in violation of any of the ordinances, laws or statues of the city of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ City or the state of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ may also be asked to leave and/or be subject to arrest.
